The Daisy Appeal has raised £23m since it launched in 2000, funding world-leafing facilities for Hull, East Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire to support cutting-edge research and facilities for cancer, heart disease, and dementia.
Through the kind generosity of the local community, businesses and benefactors the Daisy Appeal has funded the £8m Daisy Appeal Medical Research Centre, which opened in 2008 and the £4.5m Jack Brignall PET-CT Scanning Centre that followed in 2014. Both sited at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham near Hull.
Research and treatment for cancer, dementia and heart disease are now set to take a huge step forward following the commissioning of a £9m Molecular Imaging Research Centre also based at Castle Hill Hospital in East Yorkshire. There are ongoing plans for further development to improve medical services and double the scanning capacity onsite. The Daisy Appeal is looking to secure new funding for a £2.8m digital scanner, the charity’s 2025 fund raising efforts are focussed on achieving that goal.
100% of the donations received go to fund vital lifesaving research and provision of medical scanning facilities.
Please note all funds are used in full by the charity to further its objectives.
