Since it was established in 2000, the Daisy Appeal has raised over £20m to fund cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.
The Daisy Appeal exists to help fund the equipment and infrastructure needed to give faster and more accurate diagnosis for three of the region’s biggest killers – cancer, heart disease, and dementia. Early diagnosis offers the best chance of survival.
Since it was established in 2000, the Daisy Appeal has raised over £20m to fund cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, which are located at Castle Hill Hospital, Cottingham, East Yorkshire.
Every year, 4,500 patients pass through the facilities the Appeal has helped to build and equip. This number is forecasted to grow to 7,000 per year within the next decade.
The Appeal has brought together vital academic and NHS expertise to build a medical research centre, a PET-CT scanning centre, and a magnetic imaging research centre, which is one of only a handful in the UK and is nationally recognised.
The research carried out in the facilities funded by Daisy Appeal helps those with cancer, heart disease and dementia get more accurate results, earlier diagnosis and faster treatment.
100% of the donations received go to fund vital lifesaving research and provision of medical scanning facilities.
Please note all funds are used in full by the charity to further its objectives.
