Our target for a new PET-CT scanner

The target number of scans per year

£23m

The total we have raised since 2000

As the charity looks forward, we are actively fundraising to add a new, state-of-the-art PET-CT scanner at the Jack Brignall Centre. The new scanner will use the latest technology and will allow the facility to scan more patients with greater accuracy.

We expect an increase in scan capacity to 7200 scans per annum working on weekdays and 9000 scans working extended weekdays and Saturdays with the new GE Omni scanner. This will not only provide the NHS needs of our care network but also provide capacity for research which has been hampered due to the increasing NHS demands allow capacity for research. Our capability to produce radiotracers on-site at MIC and scan on a state-of-the-art digital scanner will add further impetus to local research, attract commercial research.
