Early intervention is crucial for successfully treating diseases, but it's difficult because noticeable symptoms often appear only after the disease has progressed. In some cases, early diagnosis and treatment can greatly extend both lifespan and quality of life. A stronger collaboration between PET diagnostics and treatments is essential for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment, providing both healthcare teams and patients with better knowledge to manage the disease.
The Daisy Appeal was founded with the aim of funding cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. We exist to give faster, more accurate, diagnosis for three of the region’s biggest killers – cancer, heart disease, and dementia. Early diagnosis using advanced medical techniques like PET imaging, can significantly improve survival and quality of life, as we move towards better treatments to manage, and hopefully cure, these diseases.
Find out more about how we help patients living with cancer, heart disease and dementia in our region by watching this short video.
100% of the donations received go to fund vital lifesaving research and provision of medical scanning facilities.
Please note all funds are used in full by the charity to further its objectives.
