The Daisy Appeal is working on plans to bring together families and friends for a fun challenge which will also raise funds.
The charity is inviting people to support it as part of the 5k May initiative – a global campaign which encourages participants to be as creative as they can in completing their 5k. They then multiply the benefits by donating a minimum of £5 to their chosen charity and by nominating five friends to do the same.
Daisy Appeal Fundraiser Claire Levy said: “It’s a great project and is designed to embrace people of all ages and all abilities. People can choose to run, roll, walk, cycle, swim, skate, skip or whatever suits them, and they co do it in parks, pools, beaches, fields, their own garden or as a virtual attempt in their own home.
“We’re urging as many people as possible to do it for the Daisy Appeal and we’re also asking people to send us their ideas for the 5k May challenge so we can share them with others who might be struggling for inspiration.”
The 5k May challenge will take place from 1st to 31st May. To share your ideas for activities or to seek inspiration for a team event please email Claire Levy at Claire@Daisyappeal.org
