The Daisies – aka Annie, Izzy, Phoebe and Temperance – have been busy making handmade crafts, including crochet items, bracelets, phone charms, key rings and more, to sell from their stall on Hedon’s Market Hill every Friday during the summer holidays.

They also plan to offer sweets and possibly face painting to help boost their fundraising total. They recently met Claire who visited their school to give a whole-school assembly about the work of the charity, which supports research and diagnostics for cancer, heart disease and dementia across East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.
Claire said:
It’s fantastic news that the girls are fundraising for the Daisy Appeal and I was pleased to meet the whole school to talk about the work of the charity. Lots of the children have been doing the rats trail which has highlighted the charity so well this summer. Lifestyle offers young people the chance to work together in the summer holidays to make and sell items and fundraise for good causes. The charity wishes them well and will be keeping in touch to see how they are getting on.
Claire has also provided the team with Daisy Appeal merchandise to sell on their stall, along with trail maps for A Mischief of Rats – a public art trail featuring 45 giant, artist-decorated rat sculptures across Hull and the East Riding. The trail, which runs throughout the summer, is supporting the Daisy Appeal as its chosen charity.
One of the rats is located on Market Hill, close to the girls' stall, and it is hoped that people taking part in the trail will help bring extra footfall and support to their mission.
100% of the donations received go to fund vital lifesaving research and provision of medical scanning facilities.
Please note all funds are used in full by the charity to further its objectives.
