Dr Bassim Abdulwahaab

Quality Assurance and Quality Control Specialist

Bassim joined the MIRC project in 2023 and plays an essential role in the production of radiopharmaceuticals for patients. He brings great experience to the team, with a PhD in PET Radiochemistry from the University of Hull, followed a period of post-doctoral research. Bassim says: “The MIRC is important because it helps to develop better ways to diagnose and treat diseases. By researching new imaging techniques and improving existing ones, they make it easier to catch illnesses early, plan more accurate treatments, and monitor how well treatments are working.”. Bassim is a keen sportsman and enjoys playing football in his spare time – but he has promised to stay loyal to the MIRC if the England team try to sign him.
