Hornsea Golf Club has proudly become the Daisy Appeal’s first sporting sponsor, raising an outstanding £14,500 after choosing the charity as its Charity of the Year for 2025.
Led by Club Captain Rob Osborne, members hosted a series of fantastic fundraising events, including Captain’s Weekend, which alone brought in £6,500. The club’s efforts didn’t stop there - golfers also took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, while the Ladies, Gents, and Senior Teams all came together to boost the total for this incredible local cause.
This achievement marks the Daisy Appeal’s very first sporting partnership supporting its newly launched Scan for Life campaign - a drive to raise £3 million for a cutting-edge digital PET-CT scanner at the Jack Brignall Centre, Castle Hill Hospital. The campaign underpins three key messages:
Hornsea Golf Club’s remarkable support has set a powerful example for others to follow.
Building on the success of the A Mischief of Rats campaign, Scan for Life introduces three new illustrated rat characters to bring the appeal’s mission to life and inspire even more community backing.
Scan for Answers: Reduces anxious waiting times and aids faster treatment decisions.
Scan for More Time: Enables earlier diagnosis and better outcomes for patients and families.
Scan for the Future: Supports groundbreaking research into prostate cancer, dementia, and paediatric conditions - helping position Hull among the UK’s leading diagnostic centres.
100% of the donations received go to fund vital lifesaving research and provision of medical scanning facilities. The Daisy Appeal is not funded by the NHS and relies upon the generosity of donors to fund its work. Please note all funds are used in full by the charity to further its objectives.
