A Fresh, Creative Approach to Community Fundraising
We recently welcomed Mollie-Ann Honest as our new Community Fundraiser. With a background as a freelance artist and facilitator, Mollie-Ann has built her practice around engaging communities across Hull and East Yorkshire through art.
We’re excited to see what Mollie-Ann achieves for the charity with her new campaign, Daisy Creatives.

About Daisy Creatives
Art is everywhere, even when we do not notice it. It helps people connect, step away from everyday pressures and spend time creating something meaningful. For some, it provides a focus for their hands while they express difficult feelings; for others, it offers a brief pause from the worries weighing on them.

Friends Creatives
Through our Daisy Friends scheme, we want to give something back to our loyal supporters. One benefit of joining Daisy Friends is access to our Friends Creatives sessions, where you can take part in hands-on workshops ranging from crafts to illustrating tasters. These sessions offer a chance to get creative, feel connected to the Daisy community and support a brilliant charity that funds life-saving equipment.

Corporate Creatives
We welcome the chance to work with businesses on corporate charity days, sharing the life-saving equipment and medical research we fund. These sessions are designed to be informative and to show the vital role Daisy Appeal plays in the local community.
As part of our corporate charity days with Daisy Appeal, businesses will take part in one of our Corporate Creative sessions to keep the day engaging, informative and memorable.

Community Creatives
We’re connecting with local communities through fun, creative Daisy-themed sessions that promote wellbeing, community collaboration and charitable support. These sessions are ideal for town halls, community hubs or church halls that are looking at offering more creative activities.

Castle Hill Creatives
As part of our Daisy Creatives programme, we are providing a designated space on site at Castle Hill which will focus on well-being, supporting both those on their health journey and the people who support them.

School Creatives
Alongside our vital fundraising work, we want to raise awareness of the Daisy Appeal in schools and encourage young people to support our mission. By inspiring the next generation of scientists, we hope to help continue the life-saving work needed to beat cancer, heart disease and dementia.
Young Scientist Competition
As part of our Young Scientist competition, we’re encouraging school-aged children to take part in our Big Idea Challenge. We’re looking to work with schools and their students to create ‘Big Idea’ science cards which will be displayed on our Daisy Tree at Castle Hill. The aim of this is to build relationships with schools and encourage students to enter the Young Scientist competition in the future and pursue a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Half-Term Creative Sessions
We’re looking to work with schools and parents to offer weekly two-hour Daisy Creatives sessions during half-term at The Daisy Building. Each child will leave the session with a piece of art to take home for a suggested donation of just £4. Inspired by the research and life-saving work funded by Daisy Appeal, these workshops will focus on science, innovation and creativity. They are designed to help young people enjoy science, feel inspired by it and understand the importance of the charity within our local community.

Live Fundraiser Event Creatives
If we’re supporting your business or sporting facility to host a fundraiser for the Daisy Appeal, we’re able to offer a range of our creative sessions to be part of your day. It’s a brilliant way to engage visitors in learning about the Daisy Appeal, its vital lifesaving work and the facilities we fund at the Castle Hill site.

Health Association Creatives
Through our Daisy Creatives programme, we aim to work with charity’s and organisations supporting people affected by cancer, heart disease and dementia. Our Health Association Creative sessions bring creative activities into existing services, support groups and communities to help people connect, be creative and learn more about the charities’ vital work to fight these diseases.
Here’s a selection of typical events we organise:
Crafting
Watercolour painting
Charcoal & sketching
Molecular art
Mathematical pattern making
Therapeutic painting
Easter egg painting
Sculpting with clay
And many, many more!
